Zdarek rose from the Elachi-ignited pyre of the Romulan Virinat colony and was one of Proconsul D'Tan's chief battle masters and advisors as together they forged the Romulan Republic from the ashes and debris of the Romulan Star Empire. Instrumental in defending their new homeworld in the Tau Dewa sector, Admiral Zdarek has ever been a fierce and honorable warrior - even in the face of treachery, dishonor, and subterfuge from the Tal Shiar. It is clear Zdarek saw his own reflection in the principles and ideals of the Klingon Empire, and so when presented with the choice to ally with the Klingons or the Federation, Zdarek chose the Empire.
