Petrasek was taken by the Borg during an assault on the Federation colony world, Omega Aurigae 2, called New Paris. Although the assault was repelled by the colonists, aided by U.S.S. Odysseus, after-action reports filed by Captain Federer of the Odysseus indicate 47 colonists captured and presumed dead or assimilated by the Borg. This list of colonial casualties included Petrasek's entire family - Krystov, brother Andre, and parents Stanislav and Illya. Though Krystov was liberated in 2399, there has been no intelligence to indicate the whereabouts of the rest of the Petrasek family.
